Automatic Pool Covers
Automatic pool covers are now an affordable luxury. Thanks to the French pool laws and intense competition in the pool industry, the price of pool covers has plummeted and it really is now an affordable alternative to summer and winter covers and much easier to use and from a security perspective, many times more effective.
A simple turn of the key and your pool is covered and then uncovered just as quickly. Want to pop down to the boulangerie for a croissant? Turn the key and the pool is safe and secure - would you really be bothered to pull on the heavy barred security cover and ratchet it down? We all know the answer to that.
These covers can either be mains operated via a 24v transformer or operated with a small solar panel charging two 12v batteries or even, as announced at the Piscine expo at Lyon in 2010, using small pistons attached to the mains water! They come in a variety of colours and can be installed above the terrace at the end of the pool or in a pit at the end of the pool or even in a hidden chamber in the pool floor.
